MANILA, Philippines — Several major websites and applications are currently down due to a widespread internet outage. Among those affected are Canva, Amazon and Zoom.
According to Downdetector, which tracks service disruptions across social media, web hosting platforms, gaming, and streaming services, users in the Philippines reported spikes in issues that began around 3 to 5 p.m.
Reports show that Amazon Web Services, a cloud computing platform, provides services such as virtual servers, storage, databases and networking to numerous websites. In other words, Amazon serves as backend infrastructure for several sites and applications.
